Motorola to engage with listeners

Email This Entry

Posted by Nicole Simon

and just announced a three month partnership. Motorola will not only advertise on the TPN sites and podcasts, but also "offer podcasts with senior Motorola executives on a number of topics from handset design to mobile music".

It is interesting to see that it does not stop by simple advertising:

Motorola intends to use the TPN sponsorship to promote the ROKR, as well as other upcoming handsets, and also to position the edgier side of the Motorola brand. Motorola will give podcast listeners the opportunity to interact with Motorola executives by allowing them to submit their own questions to be posed in upcoming podcasts.
Classical advertisement forms (like for example in radio) do not work as well in podcasting, but this kind of interaction might be a good model for advertising the smart way.

Podcast Hotel Affiliate Program

Email This Entry

Posted by Alex Williams

We've started an affiliate program for the Podcast Hotel. We're giving 35 percent commissions.

Why? We're hoping to get a good crew of podcasters to the Podcast Hotel. The idea is to turn the hotel into a podcast and videoblog studio. If a podcaster can sign up a few folks, the affiliate program can help pay their way. Here's a bit about the program:

Click through to the page and you'll find details on what we're offering - 35% commission for any sales, a pointer to the application page, an example of the sort of ads we'll be feeding out to you, and advice on how to help promote the Podcast Hotel. Also worth noting: a little contest we've set up that will have the top performer getting to attend the Podcast Hotel for free! Check it out and please feel free to send any questions or suggestions about the affiliate program to Dave Evans: devans at corante dot com.

Be sure to susbcribe to our new feed so you can get our podcasts. We've had this feed up for a few weeks but just want to make sure people know about it. It's a Feedburner feed. I'll explain the reason why we are going with Feedburner in upcoming posts. What's your preferred method for making your podcasts available to subscribers? Debate is open on this topic. Some say Feedburner is not the way to go. What are your thoughts?

SXSW podcasting session

Email This Entry

Posted by Matt May

There's no Corante podcast this week, but due to a fortuitous turn of events, the podcasting session from SXSW 2005, in which I was a participant, is now available at IT Conversations, in case you were running out of podcasts in which people talk exclusively about podcasting.

We'll be back next week.

Podcasting Blog Launches

What's the mission of this blog? Simply put: comprehensive coverage of podcasting in all its nascent glory.

In addition to news and commentary about podcasting developments, product launches and trends, we'll also be producing audio shows, too (duh!).

We'll experiment with different tools, talk to people about the cool tech out there for podcasters, and look inside the movement to identify emerging trends, stars and applications.

We are looking for contributors to write news and commentary, plus host a show on the state of podcasting and where it is headed.

Interested in being a Corante contributor? Contact alex at corante dot com.
