Remember a week or so ago when I wrote about how someone had cracked their iPod's DRM to stick Linux in there?

Well, Novell has released a version of Linux that loves that environment.

Silicon.Com reports that SuSE Linux Professional 9.3 (SUSE is now owned by Novell) includes automatic recognition and support for the Apple iPod.

This sits alongside BEAGLE, a desktop search tool Novell hopes will encourage people to buy SUSE rather than taking some other distro off the Web.

I don't think Novell had any idea that an iPod could be cracked open and turned into a Linux box. They were hoping to gain market share for SUSE by offering the iPod some Linux desktop love.

But it sure is an interesting coincidence.
