Lowering the alert level?

Does Cheney's declaration that we're more likely to be hit again if JK is elected mean that the adminsitration genuinely doesn't expect an attack before the election?

If the administration had secret information that an attack before Election Day was likely, if there was a lot of "chatter," then Cheney's statement would be politically unwise. So maybe the skies look relatively clear for the next 6 weeks.

Let's hope.
