National Security Wiki

John Robb suggests that the way to implement the Markle Foundation's suggestions for creating a national security network is to set up a network of blogs and wikis.

The infrastructure he's suggesting is clear enough, and lord knows I love blogs 'n' wikis, but I'm not yet clear enough about what would be going on at those sites...

David, I took a glance through the Foundation's suggested security network and Robb's ideas.

Run, don't walk, for the nearest US border and leave...quickly.

Worst and scariest thing I've seen in many a day.

Shelley, care to say a little more about what is so worst and scary about it?

I would like to hear it too.

David,

Currently, there is 50 layers of bureaucracy between the FBI agent on the street and the head of the agency. There's virtually no information flow between the CIA and the FBI due to historical acrimony. Flow from, between, and to hospitals, local police departments, fire departments, and federal agencies is done by sneakernet/voicemail if at all. There isn't a lack of anything to say, there is a lack of means to get it there.

John
