Judy Illes, senior research scholar at the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics, will be speaking tomorrow at this week's Ethics in Society noon time forum on "Current Challenges in Neuroethics".
A leading neuroethics scholar, Judy also heads the neuroethics theme group in conjunction with the Stanford Brain Research Institute, and is the Principal Investigator on several projects:
1. Ethical challenges in Neuroimaging (funded by the Greenwall Foundation) -- Co-investigators include: Tom Raffin and Scott Atlas.
2. Advanced Neuroimaging: Ethical, Legal and Social Issues. Joining the team of multi-disciplinary co-investigators mentioned above are Mildred Cho and Bruce Arnow.
3. Fetal MRI: Patient Expectations, Clinical Experience and Decision-Making
Having met Judy last year at Arthur Caplin's talk on What's Wrong with Improving Our Brains?, I am sure this will be an invigorating talk. I look forward to sharing the talk's highlights and adding it to the over 30 other articles posted here on Brain Waves - Neuroethics.
