The Bottom Line

Email Innovation?

Has anyone tried any of the products from Stata labs? It looks like they have a spam-filter proxy server, which I assume works something like popfile. Also, they have a search engine for email (I know, I know, anybody who could write a grep command could do that, but hey, I'm slow), which I could see really making my life easier.

Thanks to Lawrence Lee for the pointer.

Of course the advantage to bloomba is that everything is indexed, so it is faster then grep, if the data set is big enough. Also it is probably easier then learning real RegExp. I tried it, but was not that impressed. I have been an aggressive user of folders for a long time. I also have a well refined copy of PoPfile. Together they seen to do that job. Thus, I got know advantage from Bloomba.

Of course if you have a lot of mail in a large unfiltered lump, Bloomba might be just the thing.

I have Heard Raymie speak about search. He seemed like a smart guy.
