The Bottom Line
November 03, 2003
NYT on Pop!tech

They caught on to Aubrey de Grey's nonlinear thinking, but they left out any discussion of the Angry Left group-thinking. The article is here.

With enough money, Mr. de Grey said, it would take about 10 years to find a proven method for taking any 2-year-old mouse, already two-thirds of the way through a normal life, and extending it to five years, the equivalent of 150 years for humans. At that point the war on human aging could begin in earnest.

Oh, so much like a disciple of the dismal profession to focus on the negative. ;> I say: Go Aubrey Go!

Angry Left. It can't be that Bush & Co. are a bunch of bozos and people are collectively stirred up about it. It must be that there is some kind of delusional hive mind operating. Is that correct?

Scott,
It is obvious that a lot of people believe as you do. However, your anger serves no constructive purpose. If you have policy suggestions, make them and try to gain support for them.

There is a saying, "seek first to understand, then to be understood." When I was at Pop!tech, the Angry Left did not want to understand anything of what someone like me might be thinking. I know that they have disdain for the President, but they made it really hard for me to understand why I should support any of their policies.
